Open Access Publication Fund

(Update of the tender text 28.03.2024 with resolution of the 45th board meeting 27.02.2024)

The DHd Association has set up a publication fund from which the publication of scientific publications can be financially supported upon application from the Association's members. A maximum of EUR 1,000 is available per application, in particular to cover OA costs.

The Board of Directors decides on the applications, taking into account the following criteria:

  1. There is a significant content-related reference to the Digital Humanities in German-speaking countries and to the activities of the DHd Association, which is evident from the publication concept and/or the table of contents;
  2. the publication appears Open Access with a CC BY license, in justified exceptions with another, preferably open license;
  3. the publication strives for appropriate diversity and gender equality in terms of language and content;
  4. other financing options (e.g. project funds) are also used where possible and appropriate.

Further information: As a rule, funding is provided in the form of a pro rata assumption of the publication costs; if other costs (e.g. wage costs, copy editing costs) are to be assumed, the necessity must be described in more detail and the decision on appropriateness is the responsibility of the DHd Board, taking into account the application situation. A publication supported by the DHd Association's publication fund must refer to this support in a suitable place, whereby the full name of the association and the association's website should be mentioned.

Suggested wording for the funding notice: This Open Access publication has been supported with financial means of the Publishing Fund of the DHd - Association for Digital Humanities in the German Speaking Areas. [https://digitalhumanities.de/]

Deadlines: Applications can be submitted informally to the Executive Board [email: info@dig-hum.de] by November 1 and May 1 of each year.

The funding decision will be announced within one month.
