The DHd association - "Digital Humanities in German-speaking countries" - was founded in 2013 and sees itself as a forum and formal representation of interests for all those in German-speaking countries who are involved in research and teaching in the field of digital humanities, regardless of discipline. Currently, 440 researchers are members of DHd (July 2022).
As a regional association, DHd is associated with the European Association of Digital Humanities (EADH) and is thus also represented in the international umbrella organization Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO). Members of DHd are also full members of EADH: they are therefore entitled to all corresponding services of EADH and ADHO - without additional fees.
The official English translation of DHd-Verband, as voted in the 38th Board meeting in November 2022, is „DHd – Association for Digital Humanities in the German Speaking Areas“
